I don't think you understand.

The point is that the same basic navigation keys have the very same
functions whether the message list or the preview pane is in focus.

This is already achieved via the view folder window.

No matter whether or not the message list or the message body is in
focus:

CTRL-up/down will move you to the next and previous message

CTRL-] will move you to the next unread message

Alt-up/down will (cursor free) scroll message bodies.

In the main window, CTRL-up/down doesn't work when the preview window is
in focus.
