Hello Roelof,

On Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at 3:22:08 PM you wrote (at least in part):

What do you mean with 'FullAddress' ??? Full-E-Mail-Address? I hope you don't!
this would mean Message-ID containing a second '@' ... you don't really want
that, don't you?

Normally Message-ID's generated by a MTA (if the MUA missed it) are
'uniquestamp@fqdn' so if TB! generates the MesageID for you it takes the FQDN
(FullQualifiedDomainName) from your e-Mail-Adress what is IMHO OK.
The reason why the email-adress-domainname or FQDN of MTA is that at least
_this_ is unique and it only has to make sure 'uniquestamp' is unique in it's
FQDN-range too.
So there might even be the case two TB! installation generate the same
MessageID if both users have an email-address at the same email-domain, but
the chances are 1:10000000 (or lower).

After all that explanation I still ask myself: What's your concern 'bout your
MessageIDs?
