Most of the messages I delete, some at once, some automatically after
a few days, and still some after a few weeks or months and re-reading
them.

Those I want to archive I park until the end of the month (most of
them are newsletters like those from *Science*, *Nature* or *The
Gutenberg Project*), the printing them into a PDF file through
FinePrint and pdfFactory.

If I get or send out longer "treatises", may be of interest
historically, I print them straight to PDF (i.e. some messages created
in the first two weeks after the WTC bombing).

Those PDF's are then saved in special folders and CD's (following more
or less librarian's rules).

Another way would be MailbagAssistant, which didn't really convnce me
(but that's just me).
