Why not? I've made sub-folders in the Sent Mail folder for the addresses I use regularly. The rest just remains in the main SM folder (I could of course also put them in a sub-folder 'miscellaneous'). I have at the moment 2250 messages in my SM folder, with 31 sub-folders, so that my sent messages are now neatly ordered. With this structure I can still easily search all my sent messages. I've also made sub-folders in my Trash folder, while I keep all messages for several reasons. If there are too many messages in it, I move the content to a special trash account (with sub-folders) on another disk.
