Since you didn't have an expiration date, it could have been the 'maximum messages' setting (in which case they're not retrievable, since you've compressed) or it could've been an indexing problem. In the latter case there's a very real possibility that you won't see any deleted messages, the only option then is to exit TB and delete the messages.tbi file in the appropriate folder.
