Are you sure Mozilla & Netscape-Mail are capable of MD5-APOP too _and_
you've turned it on when comparing if it works?
Are you sure you vpopmail-installation is capable of MD5-APOP? What
vpopmail-version are you running? What patches are applied? Is
'vchkpw-pop3' patched for recognizing MD5-APOP?

What does 'pop3s' tell us in this situation, AFAIK 1.53 ain't capable of
SSL or even STARTTLS?
