I have noticed sometimes (at least with 1.60c), TB! doesn't display an error
message if the connection attempt times out.  Unfortunately timeouts are not
customizable (something on the wishlist I think).  It could be a number of
issues causing it, like a temporary server issue, or bad connection.

As for not showing any messages about it not sending, I wouldn't know, I've
never actually had any problems in that area.  Does the mail leave your outbox?
Or does it just pop back up on failure to send?
