this too is a great idea - unfortunately it does NOT show the bat or
any other program which i am unfamiliar with.

Get Mike Lin's "Startup Control Panel" <http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml>.
It sets in your Control Panel and probes your system for all
applications that start on boot & login. It lists the applications by
location (Registry cells and startup files) and gives you the option
to turn them off or back on.
