I had a similar question recently. I notice that you are using an
older version of TB, but I'll assume that the behavior is the same for
both of our versions.

When encrypting to someone The Bat will display the pop-up window when
sending. I paste in my email address and toggle the save to database
box. In the future when encrypting from this specific account, the box
will appear with my address already filled in. I simply press the OK
button to send encrypted and signed. The password box will have ****
displayed, but there is no need to overwrite it. I do have a userID on
my key that matches my email address.

When decrypting received email, you will get the pop-up box again. I
type any 1 digit character in the address, enter my password and press
ok. I'm not sure why any 1 digit character works in the address, but
it does.
