You've got it. You select the contact in (one of) the group(s) he's
present. Then you pick the contact's properties and select all groups
you want him listed.

That's the advantage of having your contacts in one address book.
Changing a property (name, e-mail address, private number) will have
effect in all groups. Of course this supposes that you've got each
contact only once in your AB. (If not you're going to get bad effects
when you're using AB-templates for such an address.)
When you're using multiple address books, you'll need to change the
properties in each AB to keep everything up to date.
