If you mean the built-in back-up function, I can't help you.

If you have backed up the messages by way of copying the messages.tbb
files somewhere, you can move them back into your current TB
directory while TB is closed. However, there was a message base change
a couple of versions back, so it depends a bit on which version the
backed-up files were created.

Lastly, if your backups are message files, such as .msg or .eml, I
would use TB's import function and just download them into the Inbox.
You will need to create filters (unless you had also backed-up your
filter file), so this is good testing material.

How are you trying to restore these messages, and what does the
dialogue box say?
