I agree.

Whilst words are necessary to communicate information it is people's
beliefs about a conversation that lasts; i.e. the way in which we speak.
We remember opinions _we_ form during conversation. Since we only rely
on words (and smileys) when communicating on these lists it is important
to understand the meaning of a communication is the response it illicits
- - rather than the intent of the author.
