Well, in all actuality, it isn't a 'mailto:' considering the string
'mailto:' isn't part of it. It is a string of characters containing an
'@'-sign that might or might not be an e-mail address or
'mailto:'-uri.

Written like this:

<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

it is recognized and immediately useable.
