Because they lie of course. (-:

But...you may, still, use them for programs/documents which do not
write, or not so often, to media, when you need them in a 'traveller'
mode.

For instance, you can put entire, and pretty large, library on it, which
would be accessible to you wherever you go, and having all of it just in
your pocket.
