I had similar results here (the long shutdown time) and came across an item in one of the help files that suggested NOT doing "compress on exit" for large folders. I have a couple of folders with more than 20,000 messages in each (including subfolders) and removed the checkmark for them. The long shutdown time vanished. I still keep things tidy, but now I do so by using the Folder Maintenance tool once a week or so to do all of the purging and compression... -- Jim Kyle mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ________________________________________________ Current version is 3.85.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
