Instead I intended to express a bit of frustration at my feeling that it seems to be getting to the point where almost *ANY* "thing" that I can click on (menu, list, column, folder, item, icon, widget, etc.) seems to have its own private config that "secretly" overrides the default, common config (if any) for that item. For the current discussion, I've no quarrel with view modes. However, it is much more obvious (to me, at least) to have a global option to have either (A) All folders use the same view mode or (B) all folders use their last selected view mode. The additional step of [externally] selecting a view mode and then applying it to a folder seems completely counter-intuitive when there's a very clear menu item to choose the view mode available. I've committed these same types of errors in my own software, so I know how easy it is to imagine that the user will grasp all of these conflicting options ... and I, too, have been wrong about that EVERY TIME. -- Steve Vallière | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Electronic Visions, Inc. | http://www.e-visions.com 1650 Barrett Dr | Voice (321) 632-7530 Rockledge, FL 32955 | Fax (321) 632-3396 ________________________________________________ Current version is 3.85.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
