However, in practice the control channels are always constrained and nodes can only exchange limited information with their neighbors, e.g., the control packets are lost during the wireless transmission, and the node only has partial network information. In this case, existing distributed multimedia scheduling schemes cannot work efficiently. This paper investigates how imperfect neighbor information affects the multimedia scheduling, and reveals the relationship between the control gain and scheduling performance based on available network and multimedia information.[3]IEEE Transactions on Multimedia [4]Condensed Version[5]IEEE Xplore Version[6]Similar Articles Toward an Architecture for Monitoring Private Clouds Cloud computing has emerged as a new model for service delivery. Also emerged are several issues, most of them related to adoption, security and management. Earlier adopters as well as potential users are faced with many management challenges and concerns, some of which concern business decisions, e.g., vendor lock-in while others are related to service operation, e.g. monitoring of network, storage, and computational resources. Although the Smart Grid will be supported by a heterogeneous set of networking technologies, the use of Narrowband Power Line Communications (NB-PLC) which operate in the (3-500) kHz band provides several unique and fundamental benefits. Several bodies are engaged in the standardization of NB-PLC, including the IEEE and ITU. The ITU has approved the first next generation OFDM-based NB-PLC family of international standards in December 2011.[11]IEEE Communications Magazine [12]Condensed Version[13]IEEE Xplore Version[14]Similar Articles Sub-Carrier-Multiplexed Duplex 64-QAM Radio-Over-Fiber Transmission for Distributed Antennas The past years have witnessed a huge increase in the number of wireless subscribers accessing the Internet from mobile devices. The proportion of high-bandwidth services, such as video-on-demand, video conferencing, voice-over-IP and internet gaming is on the rise. A major contributor to the increase in the demand for these high-bandwidth services is the development of high bitrate portable devices, such as smart-phones and tablet PCs. These mobile devices use WiFi, 3G HSPA and imminently LTE technology for communication with wireless base stations or routers.[15]IEEE Communications Letters [16]Condensed Version[17]IEEE Xplore Version[18]Similar Articles _________________________________________________________________ Source URL: [19]http://www.comsoc.org/ctn References 1. http://www.comsoc.org/ 2. http://www.comsoc.org/ 3. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn/publication/IEEE%20Transactions%20on%20Multimedia 4. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn/distributed-multimedia-scheduling-constrained-control-channels 5. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/search/freesrchabstract.jsp?tp=&arnumber=5934416&openedRefinements%3D*%26filter%3DAND%28NOT%284283010803%29%29%26searchField%3DSearch+All%26queryText%3DOn+Distributed+Multimedia+Scheduling+with+Constrained+Control+Channels&reason=concurrency 6. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/search/searchresult.jsp?newsearch=true&queryText=control+channels+%2C+control+gain+%2C+distributed+scheduling+%2C+multimedia+communication&x=0&y=0 7. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn/publication/IEEE%20Communications%20Magazine 8. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn/toward-architecture-monitoring-private-clouds 9. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/search/srchabstract.jsp?tp=&arnumber=6094017&openedRefinements%3D*%26filter%3DAND%28NOT%284283010803%29%29%26searchField%3DSearch+All%26queryText%3DToward+an+Architecture+for+Monitoring+Private+Clouds 10. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/search/searchresult.jsp?newsearch=true&queryText=Cloud+computing+%2C+Computer+architecture%2C+Monitoring%2C+Security&x=23&y=18 11. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn/publication/IEEE%20Communications%20Magazine 12. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn/ghnem-new-itu-t-standard-narrowband-plc-technology 13. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/freeabs_all.jsp?arnumber=6094004 14. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/search/freesearchresult.jsp?openedRefinements=*&filter=AND(NOT(4283010803))&searchField=Search%20All&queryText=.QT.Smart%20Grid.QT.&searchWithin=.QT.Power%20Line%20Communications.QT.&pageNumber=1&resultAction=REFINE 15. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn/publication/IEEE%20Communications%20Letters 16. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn/sub-carrier-multiplexed-duplex-64-qam-radio-over-fiber-transmission-distributed-antennas 17. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?tp=&arnumber=6065241 18. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/search/searchresult.jsp?newsearch=true&queryText=Radio-over-fiber+transmission+%2C+distributed+antennas&x=39&y=11 19. http://www.comsoc.org/ctn _______________________________________________ IEEE Communications Society Tech.
