Hi, all, This may be of interest to TCCC as well...
Joe -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [ontc] The establishment of Green dedicated Technical Subcommittee within IEEE Communications Society Date: Mon, 30 Jan 2012 22:59:18 -0800 (PST) From: Jinsong Wu <[email protected]> Reply-To: Jinsong Wu <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Dear Colleagues, Recently, Green Communications and Computing have received many attentions from both industrial and academic communities. The Technical Subcommittee on Green Communications and Computing (TSCGCC) of the IEEE Communications Society was recently officially approved and established as the flagship and dedicated Technical Subcommittee of ComSoc in this specific emerging research area in December 2011. This may be the very first Green-dedicated subcommittee or committee within the whole IEEE and ACM. As the important step of the establishment of this TSCGCC, IEEE ComSoc, the official web link, http://www.comsoc.org/about/committees/emerging#gcc, and the official mailing list, [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>, have recently been established. A valid email address existing in the official TSCGCC mailing list is a requirement for a TSCGCC membership. We encourage you join this TSCGCC as members if you have relevant background or interests. You may also encourage your relevant colleagues join this TSCGCC as members. Let us work together to promote the global research and development of green communications and computing. You may find the instructions to join the official TSCGCC mailing list after my signature. Two online communities have just been set for discussions among TSCGCC Members and the people who are interested in discussing relevant issues to green communications and computing 1. IEEE ComSoc TSCGCC Discussion Group, which may require IEEE Web Account: http://community.comsoc.org/groups/tscgcc 2. Linkedin Green Communications and Computing (GCC) Discussion Group: http://www.linkedin.com/groups?trk=anet_ug_hm&gid=4233179&home <http://www.linkedin.com/groups?trk=anet_ug_hm&gid=4233179&home> This year, TSCGCC officially sponsors two important IEEE ComSoc Green dedicated Conferences 1. IEEE GLOBECOM 2012 Selected Areas in Communications Symposium, Track on Green Communication Systems and Networks The current submission deadline is set to March 15, 2012. https://sites.google.com/site/gcccomsoc/conferences/globecom-2012-green-track 2. 2012 IEEE Online Conference on Green Communications http://www.ieee-greencom.org/2012 We expect that you may also encourage your relevant colleagues to submit papers to the above recommended conferences. The popularity of the above two conferences may be important signs of the popularity of the topics on Green Communications and Computing.
