Division of Web Science & Technology (WebST) at Korea Advanced Institute of Korea (KAIST) is seeking a visiting faculty member at the full or associate professor level, who will receive a financial support from the World Class University (WCU) Program. We are particularly interested in the fields of social network analysis and mobile applications but will consider other areas that fall under Web Science.
As a WCU professor, a successful candidate is expected to stay at KAIST for one semester, either Fall, 2012, or Spring, 2013, with the salary ranging between US$ 80,000 and 90,000 for four months plus moving expenses. The main responsibilities are teaching one course and conducting research, preferably with the existing faculty and students. A total of about US$ 50,000 will be also provided for research expenses. This position is ideal for a qualified university professor seeking a temporary position for a sabbatical leave, but can be extended for a longer period or converted to a regular faculty position, subject to an approval from the university. A successful candidate should have an excellent track record of research publications in prestigious journals and top conferences. Experiences in journal editorship and program committees in highly reputable conferences will be a plus. WebST Division is a new academic department at KAIST with MS and Ph.
