----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CALL FOR PAPERS 4th International Workshop on ITS for Ubiquitous Roads (UBIROADS'2012) December 17-19, 2012, Choroni, Venezuela ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To be held in conjunction with IEEE GIIS 2012 http://giis2012.lip6.fr ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT DATES Submission deadline: October 7, 2012 Notification of acceptance: October 28, 2012 Camera-ready copy due: November 11, 2012 Author Registration Deadline: November11, 2012 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCOPE The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) program is a universal initiative whose objective is to add information and communication technology to transport infrastructure and vehicles. It aims to manage different factors in order to improve safety and comfort to drivers/passengers, and reduce transportation times and fuel costs. With the advances in wireless communications technology and positioning systems many applications could become a reality. ITS topics are attracting more and more academic and industrial players. The goal of UBIROADS'2012 is to offer a unique forum to bring together researchers and professionals from academia, government and industry to share and discuss ideas and visions, and address recent developments and challenges in ITS topics allowing a ubiquitous environment on roads. Authors are invited to submit papers presenting new research related to the theory or practice of vehicular inter-networking (VANET). All submissions must describe original research, not published or currently under review for another workshop, conference, or journal. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: Wireless transmission Physical layer RF level technologies for ITS communications Radio resource management Media access control and QoS support in ITS Antenna technologies for ITS communications Integration Embedded systems for ITS System architectures Network architectures Cross-layer designs in ITS communications Real-time issues Sensors for ITS Networking Vehicle-to-vehicle V2V communications Vehicle-to-infrastructure V2I communications Vehicle-to-Person (V2P) communications Algorithms and protocols for ITS and VANET Internet access Simulation/emulation Models of traffic Scenarios and models of simulations for the road Emulation tools for ITS Experimentations Experimental platforms and testbeds for ITS Demonstrations Projects reviews, and work-in-progress reports Security Authentication issues PKI Distributed key management in VANET Confidence in VANET Applications Business models, Active safety applications Passenger-oriented applications New services for VANET Advanced and Distributed Driver Assistance Systems Impact on road safety ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Instructions for paper submission Authors should submit a research paper or experience report. All submissions should be written in English with a suggested paper length of 3000 words (6 pages using 10-point type), including figures and references. The cover page should indicate whether it is a research or an experience paper. Note that submitted papers should not exceed 4000 words (8 pages using 10-point type). The maximum number of pages for a paper is 8; 6 pages plus 2 additional pages allowed. Papers must be submitted online via the EDAS system:https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=13039 Submitted papers will undergo a peer review process and accepted papers will be published in the special section of the IEEE GIIS 2012 conference proceedings and in IEEE Xplore.
