Hi, all, This is my final note to the list as TCCC Chair. I have been glad to serve this community for the past four years. I'd like to recognize the hard work of everyone on this list, and the elected officers I've been privileged to serve with: Sonia Fahmy Vice Chair 2008-2010 Xiaoming Fu Vice-Chair 2010-2012, Secretary 2008-2010 Martin Reisslen Secretary 2010-2012 as well as the following volunteers: Joerg Ott conf. coordinator/monitor Patrick Seeling web coordinator R Venkatesha Prasad ComSoc Standards Board liason Fan Zhong Smart Grid ad-hoc committee rep. Chunming Qiao & Kun Yang Cloud ad-hoc committee reps. Over the past four years, they and you together have enabled TCCC to: - coordinated TCCC re-certification twice completed recertification in 11/2009 2012 recertification is currently underway - developed detailed meeting endorsement policies substantially raising the bar for meeting endorsements a subset of which the ComSoc has adopted - documented our policies and procedures - completely revised and updated our website - posted results of our conf issues discussion online - transferred the e-mail list to IEEE ComSoc servers (underway) - organized four successful Computer Communications Workshops - held TCCC meetings at ICC, Globecom, and Infocom conferences - nominated chairs for symposia at ICC and Globecom - nominated ComSoc Distinguished Lecturers and IEEE Experts As you may recall, we also all had a detailed discussion of conference operations and participation in Dec 2009-Jan 2010, addressing: presentations by non-authors conference cost issues pay-for-publication issues participation by disadvantaged authors This discussion resulted in changes to current ComSoc policy: - all financially-sponsored ComSoc conferences now require that all papers are presented by named authors - most ComSoc conferences now use EDAS for publishing CDROM/USB proceedings, resulting in a significant cost reduction I'd would like to thank everyone on this list again for your support and participation over the past four years. As I have noted, I will continue to support the ComSoc in my role as Director of Conference Operations, to represent the entire ComSoc community and ensure the best possible conference experience to authors and attendees alike. I also look forward to participating with you side-by-side in support of the incoming officers, and to seeing you at the next ComSoc event.
