Emerging end-user and backend applications and services integrate, among others, wireless communications, internet networking, mobile and cloud computing, information security, and data management. Moreover, there is currently a new direction promoting the connection between information and communication technologies as tools for improved eco-friendly systems. Information security over wireless networks, green communications, bio-inspired signal processing, mobile cloud computing, vehicle networking, heterogeneous networks, and smart grids are all new trends expected to lead the way to new perspectives and solutions in the near future, and are thus within the scope of ICCIT 2013. Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers, written in English, of no more than 6 pages (5 pages + 1 page at additional cost), in IEEE double-column format. Submissions must present original work that has not been previously published, and is not under review elsewhere. Papers must be submitted electronically, in PDF format, on-line via the EDAS system. All articles will be reviewed for scientific merit by the Technical Program Committee and external reviewers. All accepted papers will be published in IEEE Xplore.
