============================================================== Special Issue on Soft Computing Techniques in Cluster and Grid Computing Systems of the Cluster Computing Journal (2011 Impact Factor 0.519) http://www.springer.com/computer/communication+networks/journal/10586 ==============================================================
The resolution of complex problems often requires the use advanced approximate algorithms and huge computational resources to find accurate solutions in reasonable time. We look for high quality publications proposing soft computing techniques designed for large parallel systems as Grid or cluster computing. Additionally, works proposing novel soft computing/metaheuristic algorithms applied to solve complex problems in the context of Grid and cluster computing are of interest too. Therefore, the topics covered by this track include (but are not limited to) the following ones: - Soft computing techniques for real-world problems - Soft computing tools and frameworks for cluster and Grid computing - Parallel evolutionary algorithms - Parallel metaheuristics - Massively parallel algorithms - Parallel optimization frameworks - Complex and real-world problems - Performance measures - Reliable algorithms on uncertain environments - Test benchmarks - Competitive parallel algorithms - Cooperative parallel algorithms - Parallel algorithms on clusters of GPGPUs - Peer to peer algorithms - Volunteer computing - Ubiquitous computing - Cloud computing - Grid computing - Metaheuristics for scheduling - Real-world problems ----- Notes for Prospective Authors ----- Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere (conference paper extensions should include at least 30% new scientific contribution). All papers are refereed through a double-blind review process. A general guide for authors and other relevant information for submitting papers are available on the Cluster Computing journal website: http://www.springer.com/computer/communication+networks/journal/10586 When submitting your paper, please be sure that you choose SI: Soft Computing Techniques in Cluster and Grid Computing Systems for Article Type. ----- Important Dates ----- Paper submission: February 15, 2013 Initial notification: April 30, 2013 Rebuttal submission: June 15, 2013 Final notification: July 30, 2013 Expected publication: End 2013 ----- Guest Editors ----- Bernabé Dorronsoro University of Lille 1 France [email protected] Sergio Nesmachnow Universidad de la República Uruguay [email protected] _______________________________________________ IEEE Communications Society Tech.
