*3rd International Workshop on **Emerging Topics on Sensor **Networks (EmSens 2013) * *Held in conjunction with ANT 2013<http://cs-conferences.acadiau.ca/ant-13/>, June 25 - 28, Halifax, NS, Canada* *https://sites.google.com/site/emsens2013/ * *Workshop Scope* Although wireless sensor networks (WSN) have gained maturity both in experimental and industrial applications over the past decade, new research directions continue to be explored. Many open issues remain. Recently, methods from game theory, computational intelligence, and other fields have been applied to WSN. The aim of this Workshop is to bring together researchers from academia and industry to discuss key challenges, and emerging trends and opportunities in all aspects WSN technology. We welcome conceptual work, as well as insights gained from real-world experiments and applications. * Topics of interests include but are not limited to:* Emerging technologies, protocols, applications, algorithms, and implementations for: - Cognitive radio for sensor networks - Energy optimization - Wireless sensor network security - Intelligent sensing applications - Bayesian network applications in sensor networks - Body area sensor networks - Underwater sensor networks - Multimedia sensor networks - Sensor integration techniques - Vehicular sensor networks - Delay tolerance in sensor networks *Publication: * Only original papers that have neither been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere, including web publication, will be considered. All submissions will be handled electronically. The length of the paper is limited to 6 pages. All papers will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Accepted papers will be printed in the conference proceedings published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series (on-line and CD). Procedia Computer Sciences is hosted on www.Elsevier.com<http://www.elsevier.com/>and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect ( www.sciencedirect.com), and will be freely available worldwide. All papers in Procedia will also be indexed by Scopus (www.scopus.com) and Engineering Village (Ei) (www.engineeringvillage.com). This includes EI Compendex (www.ei.org/compendex). The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers. You will be able to provide a hyperlink to all delegates and direct your conference website visitors to your proceedings. *Important Dates: * Submission deadline: * January 28, **2013 (Extended)** * Notification of acceptance: March 15, 2013 Registration: March 31, 2013 Final Manuscript due: March 31, 2013 *Workshop Organizers* *Dr. Nauman Aslam* Faculty of Engineering Environment Northumbira University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK Email: [email protected] *Dr. Frank Comeau* St. Francis Xavier University Antigonish, NS, Canada Email: [email protected] _______________________________________________ IEEE Communications Society Tech.
