------------------------------------------------------------------------ CALL FOR PAPERS 1st IFIP/IEEE International Workshop on Trust in Autonomic Systems in conjunction with IM 2013 May 31, 2013, Ghent, Belgium <http://tns.ds.unipi.gr/tias2013/> http://tns.ds.unipi.gr/tias2013/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scope: ====== Autonomic systems are envisaged to enhance future networks by moving from manual management to dynamic and autonomic control and management. In particular, autonomic systems determine their behaviour, in a reactive or proactive manner, based on the external stimuli (environment aspects), as well as their goals, principles and capabilities while cognitive systems also introduce the sense of experience and knowledge. In the case of cognitive networks, this definition can be translated as the ability to dynamically select the networks configuration, through self-management functionality that reaches optimal decisions, taking into account the context of operation (environment requirements and characteristics), goals and policies (corresponding to principles), profiles (corresponding to capabilities), and machine learning (for managing and exploiting knowledge and experience). However, autonomicity and thus lack of human intervention in network management raises concerns on how trustworthy such networks can be and how to build the road to their wide adoption and deployment. Those concerns come from all ICT actors while manufactures and academics are trying to address such issues so as to move forward with autonomic solutions. >From the operators point of view stability issues, reliability of the mechanism, performance, alternatives if the system fails and of course economical aspects in terms of how OPEX and/ or CAPEX will be affected by moving to autonomic solutions comprise the main components of trust. The operators will not deploy autonomic solutions, even when manufactured, if they are not trusted. For example, multiple SONs are documented in STD and are available, but their deployment could be slowed, or even blocked by the coordination issues which need to be dealt. This workshop targets at highlighting all these aspects and receive operators point of view on trust as well. Therefore, the Workshop will welcome contributions presenting advances in various research areas related to trust, such as: * Trust definition(s) * Trust metrics and methods for evaluating trust * Trust modelling methodologies * Trust management systems for self-organizing systems * Evaluations of the effects of trust in self-organizing systems * Trust standardization, testing and certification * Trust and game theory * Trust in Multi-Agent Systems * Bio-inspired, distributed /dynamic trust management * Trust self-organization and autonomic networks * Pervasive computational trust, use of context-awareness * Mechanisms for building trust in autonomic systems * Trust in Autonomic Networks from the human operator perspective Submission Guidelines: ====================== All papers must be limited to 8 pages in an IEEE 2-column style and will be subject to a peer-review process. The accepted papers will be published in IEEE Xplore. Papers will be withdrawn from IEEE Xplore in case the authors do not present their paper at the workshop.
