Call for Papers The Fifth International Workshop on Performance Evaluation of Wireless Networks (PEWiN-2013) (Da Nang, Vietnam, July 2-5, 2013) http://people.chu.edu.tw/~pewin/2013 (Co-located with the 5th International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks), http://icufn.org)
Workshop on Performance Evaluation of Wireless Networks (PEWiN), as an international workshop, is devoted to deeper understanding in the performance evaluation and simulation techniques of wireless networks including mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, vehicular ad hoc networks, underwater sensor networks, and all kinds of wireless networks. Wireless networks raise a number of interesting and undiscovered performance evaluation and simulation issues, while traditional techniques are not sufficient to analyze, evaluate, and simulate proposed wireless algorithms or systems in the right way. For example, the algorithms and systems in vehicular ad hoc networks require a high degree of communication reliability, short communication delay, scalability, security, and privacy- preserving technologies under harsh condition. Researchers not only need to design practical distributed and centralized algorithms, but also need to introduce novel theoretical models or evaluation methodologies to challenge various kinds of research problems originated from these wireless networks. The workshop is intended to encourage idea sharing and cooperation among researchers in wireless networks, and push the theoretical and practical research forward for a deeper understanding in the theoretical modeling, evaluation and analysis techniques, and simulation methods in wireless networks. All papers must be submitted electronically, in PDF format, and uploaded on EDAS. The direct link for paper submission is http://edas.info/N14379. Submitted papers will be reviewed by the workshop Program Committee and judged on originality, technical correctness, relevance, and quality of presentation. All accepted papers will appear in the IEEE Xplore Digital library and will be indexed by SCOPUS and EI Compendex only if at least one of the authors registers at the full registration rate and attends to present the paper. Also, extended versions of selected papers will be published in the following international journals (SCIE-indexed) as a special section for the ICUFN 2013. - Wireless Personal Communications (http://www.springer.com/engineering/signals/journal/11277) - INFORMATION-An International Interdisciplinary Journal (http://www.information-iii.org) Workshop Topics (include but are not limited to the following) -ï€Performance models for wireless networks including mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, vehicular ad hoc networks, underwater sensor networks, and any kind of wireless networks -Simulation methods and comparisons for any kind of wireless networks -Software tools for network performance and evaluation -Case studies demonstrating the role of performance evaluation in the design of any kind of wireless networks -Quantitative analysis techniques of any kind of wireless networks -Probabilistic models for any kind of wireless networks -Traffic models for any kind of wireless networks -Mobility models for any kind of mobile wireless networks -Network performance improvement through optimization techniques -Evaluation of existing tools and techniques in wireless networks -Queuing and network information theoretic analysis of wireless networks -Tracing and trace analysis of wireless networks -Multimedia techniques in wireless networks -Automatic performance analysis of wireless networks Important dates of PEWiN-2012 -Full Paper Due : (31 March 2013) -Notification of Acceptance: (30 April 2013) -Final Camera-Ready Due: (15 May 2013) -Workshop Dates: (2 July 2013) Co-Chairs Kun-Ming Yu, Chung Hua University, Taiwan Chang Wu Yu, Chung Hua University, Taiwan Publication Chairs Tong-Ying Juang, National Taipei University, Taiwan Wen Ouyang, Chung Hua University, Taiwan Local Arrangement Chairs Huai-Jen Liu, Chung Hua University, Taiwan Ching-cheng Tien, Chung Hua University, Taiwan Program Committee Rei-Heng Cheng, Yuanpei University, Taiwan Victor Govindaswamy, Texas A&M University, USA Yao-Nan Lien, National Chengchi University, Taiwan Szu-Yin Lin, Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan Chuan-Ming Liu, National TaipeiUniversity of Technology, Tawan Miroslav Skoric, University of Novi Sad, Serbia Binod Vaidya, University of Ottawa, Canada Qin Xin, University of the Faroe Islands, Denmark Guowei Wu.
