[Sorry for the possible cross posting!] Call for participation in the Doctoral Dissertation Colloquium (DDC) as part of the High Performance Computing and Simulation conference in Helsinki, Finland (July 1 – July 5, 2013), http://hpcs2013.cisedu.info/
We invite applications from PhD students at any stage of their doctoral studies on HPC&S research topics. The intent of the DDC is to bring together PhD students who have not defended their thesis before HPCS 2013. The main goal of this session is to foster excellence in HPCS research by providing students feedback and advice that are particularly relevant to their doctoral studies and career development. Each participant will be paired up with a senior researcher who will act as a mentor, providing encouragement and guidance on future plans. PhD. students are invited to participate by proposing an extended abstract of up to 3 pages (written in English, in the posted IEEE format) This colloquium will give participants the opportunity to present their ongoing research in a friendly forum. They will obtain valuable feedback from conference attendees, particularly senior researchers and experts in the field in a constructively critical and informal atmosphere.
