The University of Toulouse, France, invites applications for highly motivated full time three-year PhD student in the area of Random Access (RA) protocols and PHY layer protocols for wireless networks. ------------------- Topic ------------------- Random Matrix Theory (RMT) tools have been successfully applied in the context of model order selection and in the field of wireless communications in order to tackle capacity and MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) issues. We aim at applying these new tools in the context of RA protocols for wireless networks. ------------------- Requirements ------------------- Applicants must have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related area, with a focus on networking or communications. Candidates are expected to have good analytical skills, MATLAB programming abilities, and strong background in wireless access protocols and advanced digital communications. A good level of written English is mandatory (knowledge of French is not required). The successful candidate will be funded with a bursary of French Ministry for Higher Education and Research, subject to university funding regulations. ------------------ Applications ----------------- Screening the applications will begin immidiately and the search will terminate on *** March 10th 2013*** or until the position is filled, whichever comes first.
