International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks (Impact Factor 0,203) Special Issue on Data Disseminations in Vehicular Environments Call for Papers Increasing attention is paid more and more everyday to the deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in order to provide nomadic users with data delivery services and convenient access to the Internet. In particular, vehicular communications like vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) or vehicle-to- infrastructure (V2I) are very powerful to provide users with a wide range of applications including safety and entertainment services, and so forth. Furthermore, several standardization efforts are being carried out focussing on communication technologies such as DSRC and WAVE. Particularly, IEEE 802.11p is being standardized as a specific wireless LAN technology for vehicular communications. Currently, several car manufacturers (e.g., VOLVO, BMW, and etc.) are strongly interested in equipping their vehicles with V2V or V2I communication capabilities to provide their users with safety services. To enable the variety of applications and services based on vehicular communications, different communication protocols should be developed from physical to application layers, since vehicles require communicating in single-hop or multihop to support them (e.g., warning notifications of some critical events including accidents or road status). This special issue would like to solicit the recent developments and ideas in the field of data dissemination in vehicular environments. Potential topics include, but are not limited to - Routing protocols for vehicular communications - Transport protocols for vehicular communications - Broadcasting protocols for vehicular communications - IEEE 802.11p enhancements for vehicular communications - Data dissemination protocols for vehicular communications - Field testing experience of vehicular communications - Mobile real-time positioning in vehicular environments Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijdsn/guidelines/.
