CALL FOR PAPERS IEEE SECON 2013 International Workshop on Internet-of-Things Networking and Control (IoT-NC'13) June 24, 2013 New Orleans, USA http://iot-nc2013.weebly.com/ Submission Webpage: http://edas.info/N14175 ********************************************************************************** IMPORTANT DATES Paper Submission: March 22, 2013 Acceptance Notification: April 22, 2013 Camera Ready: May 1, 2013 Workshop Date: June 24, 2013 ********************************************************************************** SCOPE The Internet-of-Things (IoT) is a novel design paradigm rapidly gaining wide global attention from academia, industries, and governments. The fundamental concept is to emphasize the ubiquitous computing among a global networked physical objects, or things, including RFID tags, sensors, actuators, and mobile phones, etc. It covers a wide scope of technologies including wireless/wired sensing, networking, computing and control, which together build feasible complex cyber physical systems (CPS) to support diverse applications, including smart grid, healthcare, intelligent transportation, and logistics, etc. Organizations such as IEEE, IETF, 3GPP and ETSI have started the IoT related standards from different aspects. The IEEE Int'l Workshop on Internet-of-Things Networking and Control (IoT-NC), in conjunction with IEEE SECON 2013 is a new event particularly focusing on all aspects of networking and control of IoT. It aims at providing a forum that brings together researchers from academia as well as practitioners from industry and government to meet and exchange ideas on recent research work, point out the directions for future research, and seek collaboration opportunities on all aspects of the IoT enabling technologies. The goal of this workshop is to promote borderless discussions and identify suitable technical solutions, in particular communications and networking technologies, to enable effective and efficient IoT system design and implementations. Area of Interests include but are not limited to: - System architecture and components - Performance assessment and management (QoS, scalability, reliability, etc) - Radio/wireline, long/short range access network technologies - Channel and traffic models - PHY layer, Spectrum management for IoT radio communications - MAC protocols (e.g., scheduling, power control etc.) for IoT - Mobility management - Naming, address management and End-to-End Addressability - Object, device and service management - RFID, sensors, actuator technologies - Security, trust, and privacy issues for devices and services - Middleware - Cloud computing interworking - Applications, services, and business models - Sustainable design and technologies (e.g. energy-efficiency) - Test-beds and field trials - Standardization and regulatory issues *********************************************************************************** PAPER SUBMISSION Papers should be written in English and be six (6) printed pages long maximum using 10 point font and including figures (a maximum of one (1) additional page can be added at an extra charge, if accepted). Please note that you may not reduce the length of paper submitted for review after it is accepted. You may use the standard IEEE Transactions templates for Microsoft Word or LaTeX. Alternatively you can follow the IEEE Communications Society’s guidelines for attendees and authors. Only PDF files are accepted for review. Your submitted PDF file and registered EDAS account of a paper must match. The author(s) must be listed in the same order and the title must match. There may be only minor wording differences in the abstract. Papers where the PDF and EDAS account do not match will be withdrawn by the Technical Program Co-Chairs. PLEASE NOTE: To be published in the IEEE SECON’13 Conference Proceedings and IEEE Xplore®, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full rate and the paper must be presented at the conference. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready version of the paper. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE SECON’13 Conference Proceedings and in IEEE Xplore® (also EI-Indexed). *********************************************************************************** WORKSHOP CHAIRS Xue Liu, McGill University, Canada Joog-Moon Chung, Yonsei University, Korea Jiming Chen, Zheijiang University, China Harold Liu, IBM Research, China PUBLICITY CHAIR Chonggang Wang, InterDigital Communications, USA Peter Rost, NEC Labs Europe, Germany PROGRAM COMMITTEE Pinghui Wang, McGill University, Canada Yan Gao, Accenture Research Lab Jianguo Yao, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China Jian Li, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China Deke Guo, NUDT, China ShaoLiang Peng, NUDT, China Erwu Liu, Tongji University, China Yan Zhang, Simula Research Lab, Norway Rainer Schoenen, Carleton University, Canada Melike Erol Kantarci, University of Ottwa, Canada Chau Yuen, Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore Yongki Lee, KAIST, South Korea Sachin Agrawal, Samsung Electronics, India Yoshito Tobe, Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan Qixin Wang, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HK Cigdem Sengul, Deutsche Telekom Lab, Germany Sangheon Pack, Korea University, South Korea Kaoru OTA, Tohoku University, Japan Shibo He, Arizona State University, USA Xianghui Cao, IIT USA Bin Cao, Harbin Institute of Technology, China Bin Liu, USC, USA Jianhui Zhang, Hanzhou Dianzi University, China Rong Yu, Guangdong University of Technology, China Official website: http://iot-nc2013.weebly.com/ For any inquires, please email: [email protected] _______________________________________________ IEEE Communications Society Tech.
