Workshop Title: Cloud Computing Issues and Trends (CCIT) http://thesai.org/SAIConference2013/CCIT Overview: Cloud Computing poses a major shift in the IT industry. It is a new paradigm for reducing the cost ofcomputing resources and staffing. Cloud computing implements a Pay-for-what-you-Use and Expand-per-your-Needs model. Cloud computing is the use of computing resources including software and hardware as a service over the Internet, it also reduces the number of staffing required to administer and maintain these resources. It provides different types of services including Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS), Software as a service (SaaS), Storage as a service (STaaS), ID as a service (IDaaS), Security as a service (SECaaS), and Administration as a service (AaaS). However, since all these services are Internet-based services and are based on remote utilization of software and hardware resources, this leads to serious challenge in securing an adequate bandwidth for addressing the increased traffic due to these Internet-based services. The communication in the cloud over the Internet is known to be a communication in the public; therefore, extra measures are needed to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of communicated data. The concentration of hardware and software resources and of technical support and staffing to administer these resources in the cloud has its economic impact. Cloud Computing is an emerging model to provide services for enterprises and individuals, and forindustry and academic communities. While Cloud Computing seems to be very attractive for large number of potential customers, in the meantime it poses a great amount of security and managementconcerns among others. These concerns include; data protection, authentication management, policy management, customization, and reliability . In this workshop, researchers are invited to address these and other concerns, and to discuss the tradeoff between the benefits, and the concerns of implementing cloud computing. Researchers are invited also to discuss the future models of cloud computing for individuals and in the enterprise. Scope and topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following: - Study the maximization of efficient utilization of the bandwidth for Cloud Computing services. - Consider the different factors that affect the efficient utilization of bandwidth. These factors include the delivery of software components, and data components. - Consider possible guidelines and approaches for software development, and for data structure. - Study the challenges related to security due to the use of remote storage as a service. - Quality of Service (QoS) in cloud computing - QoE - Security policies - Issues in migrating from on-site network system to the cloud - Virtualization and cloud computing - Security issues in the cloud - The business and economics impact of the cloud - Cloud Computing and globalizations - The future of cloud computing - The future of on-site infrastructure - Cloud computing architecture and models - Data storage and computation in cloud computing - Mobile cloud computing - Cloud computing management - Fault tolerance and reliability in cloud computing - The impact of cloud computing on social life - Cloud computing and E-commerce - Cloud computing and health care industry - Case studies of cloud computing - Scheduling and scalability of resources in the cloud - The effect of cloud computing on green computing Important Dates: • Paper Submission : April 15, 2013 • Acceptance Notification : May 15, 2013 • Paper Registration : June 15, 2013 • Camera Ready Submission : June 30, 2013 Submission guidelines: Authors are kindly invited to submit their formatted full papers including results, tables, figures and references.
