Hello all, we are happy to announce an IEEE 802.11a/g/p receiver for GNU Radio, tested with an Ettus USRP N210. This is, to the best of our knowledge, the first GNU Radio receiver supporting OFDM at channel bandwidths of up to 20MHz. The receiver is running on a normal desktop PC and without touching the FPGA firmware. We already performed extensive interoperability and performance tests with ordinary IEEE 802.11a/g/p devices.
To make our work accessible to the community, we released the receiver under the GPLv3. This way, our GNU Radio OFDM receiver can serve as a basis for further experimentation, measurements, and research on signal processing algorithms. This also allows for reproducibility of conceptual studies and experiments, and all blocks of the receiver can be analyzed in more detail by fellow researchers.
