IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications 2013 (IEEE PIMRC) *special session on VEHICULAR APPLICATIONS AND SERVICES* http://www.ieee-pimrc.org/
Submission deadline: *7 May 2013* EDAS Submission link: https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=14835&track=32817 Organisers: Pietro Manzoni, Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, Spain [ http://www.grc.upv.es/members/pmanzoni/] Claudio E. Casetti, Politecnico di Torino, Italy [ http://www.telematica.polito.it/public/faculty/claudio-e-casetti] This special session aims to gather the most relevant results of on-going works about all the aspects of the design of applications and services for vehicular contexts, like for example: information dissemination, road safety, emergency services, etc. The main purpose is to promote discussions of research and relevant activities in the design of architectures, algorithms, and applications for inter-vehicular communication environments. This session is of interest to those researchers that are active in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems from the perspective of the application and the services to be provided in vehicular contexts. It aims to convey new developments in theory, analytical and numerical simulation and modeling, experimentation, advanced deployment and case studies, results of laboratory or field operational tests. Papers are invited to be submitted in the following areas: • App concepts and technologies for different mobile platforms • Communication between mobile devices and cars • Congestion Control and Cooperative VANETs • Content Distribution • Controlling vehicle systems with mobile devices • Data replication protocols in network partitions • Info Dissemination; Data organisation • Innovative services and applications for mobile devices in cars • Location- and track-based services in cars • Mobile marketing and location-based advertising in cars • New application scenarios for vehicular communications • Platforms and frameworks for mobile devices • Privacy issues and solutions • Security issues, architectures and solutions • Sensor-networks in vehicles • Sensors & Data Collection • Supporting technology for driver assistance applications _______________________________________________ IEEE Communications Society Tech.
