The Wireless Communications and Networking Group (WCNG) at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA invites applications from outstanding candidates for a post-doctoral researcher position. In the WCNG, we study the protocols, algorithms, architectures and systems that can provide dramatic improvements in applications for wireless sensor networks, mobile ad hoc networks, heterogeneous networks, and mobile access to cloud computing resources. I nformation about the WCNG's research projects can be found here: http://www.ece.rochester.edu/projects/wcng We are seeking a candidate to conduct research in the design and implementation of next generation, heterogeneous ad hoc and wireless sensor networks. Specifically, we seek a candidate who can contribute to the theory and design of protocols and algorithms for heterogeneous networks and cloud computing, and to the implementation of practical sensor networks for various applications ranging from pollution monitoring to the monitoring of human interactions for psychology research. Requirements: * A Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field. * Experience with wireless networking, protocol development, cloud computing, network implementation and/or network theory. * Strong programming skills. Use of a network simulator (e.g., ns-2, OPNET , etc.) and/or TinyOS a plus. * Excellent analytical, technical and problem solving skills. * Excellent organizational and communication skills. * Interest in mentoring graduate students.
