Dear all, there is an open PhD researcher position in my group in Klagenfurt in the following project funded by the Austrian Science Fund:
Dynamics of Interference in Wireless Networks http://indy.nes.aau.at/ The temporal and spatial dynamics of multiple-access interference in wireless networks has significant impact on diversity techniques and protocols. The goal of this project is to gain a deep understanding of interference correlation in the time and space domain and to rigorously analyze its impact on system performance. Taking into account various sources of correlation - node locations, channel, and traffic - we aim at deriving expressions for the correlation coefficient of the overall interference power received at a certain point in space. Based on such expressions, we analyze the overall outage rate and throughput of cooperative diversity schemes. Reference: Udo Schilcher, Christian Bettstetter, and Günther Brandner. The position is located at the Institute of Networked and Embedded Systems (NES) - one of the university’s largest and most third-party funded research and teaching units. NES offers an international working atmosphere and is part of the Lakeside Labs research cluster on Self-organizing Networked Systems and the European Erasmus-Mundus doctoral school on Interactive and Cognitive Environments. The PhD researcher will work in close cooperation with two PostDoc researchers. In order to increase the number of women in leading academic positions, we specifically encourage women to apply. In case of equal qualifications, female candidates will be preferred. Applications including CV and list of courses and grades can be sent to kornelia.lienbacher at aau.at. Annual salary: 27.381 EUR gross Best regards, Christian Bettstetter _______________________________________________ IEEE Communications Society Tech.
