The website is at: http://ants.ustb.edu.cn/coin2013 Since modern communications networks must deliver ever increasing data rates at an ever decreasing cost per bit, the spectral efficiency of communications systems has to be further improved to facilitate the emerging ubiquitous services. Besides, the future communications networks will comprise a large amount of NEs with various functionalities/capabilities, and a property of high heterogeneity will accordingly be observed in those networks. Over the past several years there has been increasing interest in studying the heterogeneous convergence networks such as Fiber-wireless (Fi-Wi), Long Term Evolution (LTE)-Wireless Sensor Network convergence, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) networks, and heterogeneous networks (HetNets). Moreover, the convergence of computation and communications, which significantly upgrades the communications capability of networks by effectively exploiting the computational capability of network elements, is anticipated to lead to the next revolution of the communications technology. Scope of Contributions The workshop includes different aspects on heterogeneous convergence networks ranging from optical-wireless convergence, computation and communications convergence, to broader categories. This workshop will bring together academic and industrial researchers to identify and discuss technical challenges and recent results related to convergence networks in the future communications systems. It also focuses on the state-of-the-art research and development in various aspects of convergence networking technologies and ubiquitous services for the next-generation convergence communications systems. Original, unpublished contributions will be considered for the workshop. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to: l Architecture of future optical-wireless convergence networks; l Multi-dimensional cognitive techniques for heterogeneous radio environment; l Cooperative communications for heterogeneous convergence networks; l The impact of human activities on the heterogeneous networks; l Energy-efficient convergence network; l Quality of Experience (QoE) for heterogeneous convergence networks; l Convergence of computation and communications l Novel models of ubiquitous services for convergence networks; l …… Prospective authors should prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the IEEE conference standard format (standard IEEE conference templates for LaTeX and Microsoft Word are available at http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events-/conferences/publishing/templates.html). Authors should submit a PDF version of their complete manuscript to this workshop (http://edas.info/N14029). The detailed information is at website of COIN2013: http://ants.ustb.edu.cn/coin2013 The timetable is as follows: • Manuscript submission: 01 Aug. 2013*(Extended) • Acceptance notification: 15 Aug. 2013*(Extended) • Camera-Ready deadline: 31 Aug. 2013* Organization Committee Keping Long (University of Science and Technology Beijing) Lieguang Zeng (Tsinghua University) Zhongshan Zhang (University of Science and Technology Beijing) Lei Guo (Northeastern University) Jinglin Shi (Institute of Computing Technology, CAS) Yiqing Zhou (Institute of Computing Technology, CAS) Jianping Wang (City University of Hongkong) Wei Guo (Shanghai Jiaotong University) Yaohui Jin (Shanghai Jiaotong University) Tao Zhang (Tianjin University) Li Su (Tsinghua University) Yong Li (Tsinghua University) Haixia Zhang (Shandong University) Mugen Peng (Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications) Lingyang Song (Peking University) Chengwen Xing (Beijing Institute of Technology) Jie Xu (University of Electronic Science and Technology of China)
