HP-UX patches to fix packet capture problems
Note that packet-capture programs such as tcpdump may, on HP-UX, not be able to see packets sent from the machine on which they're running. In this reference, i use the follow system: $ uname -na HP-UX AG226 B.10.20 A 9000/813 2009540747 two-user license First of all, download the file: http://www.firewalls.com.br/tcpdump/hp.tar Use these steps to apply all patchs in the hp.tar file: tar xvf hp.tar mkdir tmp mv patches.tgz tmp cd tmp gzip -d patches.tgz tar xvf patches.tar ./create_depot_hp-ux_10 -f swinstall (select pots with SPACE and use TAB and use the MOVE KEYs to select action, install) The follow problems can occour: - swagentd isn't running -> Start it - System hostname can't be resolved -> Add it in /etc/hosts Repeat all these steps using file patches2.tgz Observation: This steps can be performed after installation of the libpcap
