The WWW site says:

TCPDUMP version 3.6 was released on January 10, 2001. The current version
is 3.6.1 (0.6.2 for libpcap).

I believe s/0.6.2/0.6.1/ for libpcap. Typo.

I've been keeping an RPM set of tcpdump+libpcap+arpwatch+tcpslice for a
couple of weeks now. It contains a couple of my patches not commited yet.
These have been created in Red Hat spirit.

I think it's better to do a drop-in replacement for distributions than
anything else. If there's interest I could do some minor cleaning up on
it and offer it.

Is there some special process associated with patches@ ?

If I haven't gotten [enough] feedback on my patches on workers list,
should I send them to patches@ ?

These include (for now):

 - move tcpdump.1 etc. to tcpdump.8
 - add drop root patch, fix bugs in man page and --usage
 - throw away savestr
