Today I've put at http://netgroup-serv.polito.it/netgroup/tools.html the
beta versions of the new releases of windump and winpcap, that are now
upgraded to tcpdump 3.6.2 and libpcap 0.6.2. Since I think that our packet
drivers and the porting of the tcpdump.org tools are quite stable and
tested, I'm asking if you are interested in joining the win32 code with the
sources of tcpdump and libpcap.
Consider that:
- the win32 code can be easily located, because the new files are in the
win32 subdirectories and the changes to the original files are inside
"#define WIN32" statements
- I tested the sources under Linux (redhat 7): windump and winpcap seem to
compile correctly and generate the same binaries of the original
distribution.
- the win32 extensions to libpcap (that include functions like pcap_setbuff)
are kept in a separate, independent file. A VisualC project in
winpcap\wpcap\libpcap\win32\prj can be used to produce a library without the
win32 extensions, fully compliant with the original library.

If you think that the win32 code can be included, I can upgrade the porting
to the latest CVS snapshot and then send you the patches.

Loris Degioanni.
