BPF under AIX is IBM's private version, and the normal libpcap/tcpdump don't work with it. You have two choices:
1. Get a custom IBM bpf-using tcpdump. This appears to be what you've done, except it doesn't work. Bummer, but I doubt anyone here can help you with that problem. 2. Compile your own (or get pre-compiled versions somewhere) copies of tcpdump.org's libpcap and tcpdump, making sure to follow the directions in README.aix that say to use DLPI instead of BPF .
