[tcpdump-workers] question about hardware requirements

Dear tcpdump-workers,   I am a newbie to tcpdump. Hope someone can answer my question below. In order to use tcpdump snooping 1Gbps traffic without dropping packets, what are the requirements for the hardware? Say, how fast should the CUP, memory, cache, buses and hard drive be?
