Part release candidate, part beta, 3.3.rc1 fixes a number of bugs and adds features requested by users. The biggest new feature I think is pretty exciting: full tcprewrite integration with Dug Song's fragroute[1]. With this you'll be able to take any pcap and run it through the fragroute engine without the complexity of running fragroute. In addition, you can frag traffic in either direction when you use a tcpprep cache file. In order to use the fragroute feature, you'll need to have libdnet[2] installed, but not fragroute.
I've also tried to include a number of user requests & reported bugs including: - Support for modifying the IPv4 TTL field - Fixed tcpprep with processing VLAN tagged frames - Splitting traffic by specifying clients instead of servers - Fixed removing of the FCS checksum - Fixed a tcprewrite crash when using tcpprep cache files The full current list of fixes & enhancements can be found here: http://tcpreplay.synfin.net/trac/query?status=closed&verbose=1&milestone=3.3 So go grab it and kick the tires. http://synfin.net/tcpreplay-3.3.rc1.tar.gz [1] fragroute home page: http://monkey.org/~dugsong/fragroute/ [2] libdnet home page: http://libdnet.sourceforge.net/ -- Aaron Turner http://synfin.net/ http://tcpreplay.synfin.net/ - Pcap editing & replay tools for Unix They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. -- Benjamin Franklin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
