1. I think academic exercise should be geared towards producing high
quality individuals that are worthy in learning and character. It
should not be a one way traffic. Since grade is a life long exercise,
students should not be made to shy away from this role; the should be
allowed to grade themselves, using clearly defined objective criteria.
Any assessor deviating from such should be sanctioned for unethical
conduct. This will assist them when they are eventually out of school.

2. Some employers are already using peer review mechanism among job
candidates. This allows the candidates to review and grade themselves.
The least rated candidate is dropped in the selection. Candidates who
have been used to it from school are likely to take a more informed
decision in the process
3. However I suggest that the weight of such grading should not be too
high.
