Hi Everyone, Me and my colleague have been "commissioned" (by the University
President) to do a study on rural-urban migration. Specifically, what are the
major challenges facing ex-urbanites moving to rural areas but (in the majority
of cases) commuting up to 100 miles daily to higher paying jobs located in
metropolitan areas (New York, Newark, etc). I am just now starting a literature
search. Is anybody aware of any sociological (and related) studies/articles
(including theories) on urban-rural adjustment issues, culture clash, problems
with commuting, etc? I am especially interested also in how minorities adjust
to predominantly white rural and semi-rural communities.

Thanks Ray
