I'm going over the conflict perspective and structural functionalism in my Intro class today and will ask students to look at Katrina from each of these perspectives. I pulled a news photo of people lining up for shelter as an example of the prevalence of social order and a couple of news stories on those who had nowhere to evacuate to as an illustration of social inequality.
