I just discovered that 13-World, a digitable cable channel
for Public Broadcasting Service in the New York City area, will rerun People
Like Us: Social Class in America at least three times between today and
tomorrow. The airtimes are 7pm today along with 2am and 8am
tomorrow. This is an interesting program about the divergence between
social classes. The program originally aired about three years ago
but still would be appropriate for introductory sociology and other sociology
course preparations. For those lacking access to the digital cable
channel, the video is available through the People Like Us website. There
are also interesting interactive exercises and other materials on the same
website which are helpful for anyone teaching social class issues in their
courses.
