How do we ever really know what is learned? I'm curious about the beta-testing that you often mention. What do you mean by this? (I am sincerely curious.) If this has already been addressed on the list, I apologize as I am a relative newcomer.

Using commercial film in class
Does this film send a message that we want to promote in a sociology class room? How do we know what is learned?
What about the variation of what is learned based on gender or faith?

This film has been marketed for females and their "Yes dear I'll go with you" power. I understand that some have recommended punitive treatments for those who do not want to have this as a classroom experience.

Your thoughts.
