hi, Sarah   I would have her look at the emotional impact of loss of status, changes in status, etc. i would also include role change/conflict/stress, etc. Zurcher wrote a nice text on social roles that includes discussion of these topics (entitled, appropriately enough, Social Roles).   john   John E.
