Libby- I haven't looked at it carefully, but just a few days ago I got an review copy of The Politics of Protest: Social Movements in America by David S. Meyer, Oxford, 2007. Only 188 pages. Definitely an undergraduate text. Only downside that it is definitely about U.S. and not general, but it is not structured by specific movements at all, but rather chapters include "Why protest?", "Becoming an activist", "Civil Disobedience", "The State and Protests: Institutionalization". Let us know what you find! Amy Hite
