Hello Lynette, There are a couple of measures of postsecondary classroom climate. Two scales have been developed to assess college or university classroom climates, the College and University Classroom Environment Inventory (Fraser, Treagust, & Dennis, 1986) and the College Classroom Environment Scale (Winston, Vahala, Nichols, Gillis, Wintrow, & Rome, 1994). Two others have been developed primarily for primary and secondary assessments, but they have been extended to the postsecondary context in some applications: the Learning Environment Inventory (Andersen & Walberg, 1974) and the Classroom Environment Scale (Moos, 1979,1987; Moos & Trickett, 1987). The latter was applied to postsecondary sociology classrooms in Waters (1983). You may also be interested in Anderson (1982), which focuses on K-12 climate research, but offers a good overview of the strengths/problems with this area of research.
